Base Rates

I typically work with entrepreneurs, start-ups, and existing small businesses. I do this to keep projects short and my workload relatively light. I almost exclusively use open-source platforms, so you’re really only paying for my time and my expertise.

I know how frustrating it can be trying to understand what you really need to do now, where to start, what’s fair, and what’s excessive. I don’t bury requisite fees only to reveal them halfway through the process. I’m up-front with what I think it will take from both of us to get the job done right, and I only feel successful if I’ve taught you how to handle everything yourself moving forward.

Most of my clients like to shop around before they make a decision, so here are my base fees. These numbers are subject to change depending on the size and scope of each individual project.

 

$50 per hour – Strategic Marketing Review

You gather all of your marketing materials, press releases, web copy, and other relevant promotional materials for the past year and give them to me. We’ll discuss where you’d like to be in a few years, where you are now, and what needs to happen in the meantime to reach your goals. I’ll help you identify your company’s key features, benefits, and advantages from an independent perspective, and develop pithy messaging that better conveys those selling points. We’ll review your overall marketing plan and implement ways to better measure performance.

 

$250-$500 Website Review (price depends on the size of the site)

After a cursory interview with you regarding your business plan and goals, I’ll analyze your website for effectiveness. I’ll review your web copy to ensure that your message is straight-forward and easy to understand to the independent reader, that the flow of the site translates to leads, and that your text is optimized for search engine crawls. And I’ll show you how to do it better as a matter of habit moving forward.

 

$500-$1000 – Website Review & Google Integration (price depends on the size of the site)

You get everything mentioned above, but I’ll also help you integrate Google Analytics, Webmaster Tools, Places, Feedburner, etc. If you don’t exist on Google, you don’t exist to 60% of consumers. Google integration is paramount from a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) standpoint.

 

$1250 (plus fees) – Website Development

I got into web development because I was tired of paying exorbitant fees for websites that never worked properly and programmers who were rarely accountable. I exclusively use WordPress, an open-source content management system (CMS) that’s free, user-friendly, and has a robust developer community. This website uses WordPress. I’ll help you buy a domain name, set up a hosting account, install WordPress, and configure your new website. You will supply the web copy prior to implementation, so when your site goes live, it’s finished. Then I’ll show you how to log into WordPress and edit your site moving forward. Unlike so many people you may know who are continually frustrated with the mounting fees associated with updating their websites, you’ll be empowered to manage it yourself with a little practice.

 

$1500 (plus fees) – Website Development & Google Integration

You get the web development features listed above and I’ll also help you integrate Google Analytics, Webmaster Tools, Places, Feedburner, and other tools with your new WordPress site. Google integration is paramount from an SEO standpoint.

 

$2000 (plus fees) – Website Development, Google Integration & Social Media Integration

You get everything mentioned above plus I’ll help you integrate your new website with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and any other social media tools that are pertinent to your business and target audience.

 

$2500-$5000 Rebranding (includes custom logos and detailed brand guidelines)

I’ve managed several successful rebranding efforts. What separates strong brands from diluted, ineffective brands is creativity and consistency. Does your brand evince your hedgehog concept?
